A growing number of people are learning about celiac disease and require meals that are gluten free. GF Delights strives to match up gluten-free diners with restaurants that can service their needs. GF Delights’s Gluten Free Pledge is signed by restaurants that agree to provide a full service level to diners with gluten restricted diets. It describes the special meal needs of diners and some basic requirements for restaurants such as educated staff and a menu with gluten free items denoted.
The Gluten Free Pledge is a statement that the restaurant cares about gluten-free diners and that they can meet the requirements to provide gluten free meals. Providing a Gluten Free Meal: The Gluten Free Pledge
- Our restaurant will accommodate people with special requests.
- The kitchen staff will accommodate the cooking needs for special requests.
- The kitchen and serving staff will be informed about Celiac disease and the requirements of a gluten free meal.
- Our establishment will dedicate time for a staff information session regarding orders, preparation, and service of gluten free meals.
- The kitchen and serving staff will be provided with a list of the gluten-containing grains and products that must be avoided.
- The kitchen and serving staff understand cross contamination and how to avoid it.
- To avoid cross contamination the kitchen staff keep utensils used for gluten free meals separate from the other utensils.
- The menu will be noted with items that are gluten free or a separate gluten free menu will be provided on request. (GFDelights.com is available to help restaurants identify some of the offered meals that can be prepared gluten free)
